Lean Thinking
The term Lean thinking came from the Toyota Production
System, TPS. James P.
Womack, Daniel T. Jones, and Daniel Roos coined the term "Lean
Production"
in the book The Machine That Changed the World: The Story of Lean
Production. In 2003, they followed with Lean Thinking.
According to Womack, Jones, and Roos, the five stages of lean thinking
are: Customer Value, Value Stream, Flow, Pull, and Perfection
