Magazine Racks
I love the magazine racks. I scan title after title,
searching for just the right
one; kind of like an Easter egg hunt. Magazine racks offer an escape
from monotony. They are full of magazines loaded with ideas, interesting
articles, recipes and more.
I particularly like the wood-wall magazine displays. First, they're
usually large,
so I can browse through more, and they display hard-to-see titles evenly
spaced.
Another reason I'm fond of the wooden displays, is they're usually hung
at eye-level, a real plus for anyone who is vertically challenged, like
me.
I'm also fond of wire magazine stands. They bring back the days of my
childhood
when I would spin the rack searching for that particular comic book.
They supply
a full view with reasonable amount of access. I would like to make a
special mention to the rotating counter top displays, which usually are
found in reception rooms, hotel lobbies, or gift shops. They are perfect
for when reading material has no other place.
If you visit the Internet, you'll find an impressive collection of
magazine racks
featured from various manufacturers. Retailers are the ones who mostly
use them,
but I know of one, which found a new home.
There is one special rotating counter top display, which was given new
life 22 years ago. It was Christmas and I was newly married, and living
on a limited budget. I left my part-time job only to trip over this
particular display. It was slightly bent, and why it was there, I don't
know. Thinking I could use it for something, I tossed it in the back of
my car. My husband and I had received numerous Christmas cards that year
but couldn't afford a tree, we didn't have any decorations, and yes, I
was feeling homesick. A few days before Christmas my husband painted the
slightly bent rack green, tied a few bows on it here and there, and then
proudly displayed our holiday cards from it. It has remained a holiday
tradition ever since.
