Rapid Manufacturing
The term rapid manufacturing was first used during World
War II for the manufacturing of aircraft. Today, rapid manufacturing is
a process for producing solid objects by the sequential transferring
energy and/or material to specific point in order to produce the object.
The manufacturing process today is control by computers using
mathematical models created with the assist of a computer. Rapid
manufacturing offers tremendous advantages in speed and cost overhead
when compared to other metal manufacturing procedures like powder
metallurgy manufacturing and die-casting.
